The revealed mystery of the fundamental yogic technique of Mahamudra allows for the revelation in the practitioner’s inner universe,
of the consciousness of the identity of the being, which is and remains a mysterious constant of the unique existence that is manifested in the Essential Centre of the human being, which is something transcendental and informal and exists beyond the multiple changes. This consciousness, which radically goes beyond the formal order, allows us to explore the supramental layer, vijnanamaya kosha. The spiritual experience that it reveals is similar, in its own way, to the supra-rational intuition that reveals itself to us as existing beyond the limited faculties, allowing the ineffable and overwhelming experience of eternity to appear in our inner universe.
The careful and persevering practice of Mahamudra also helps us to discover and deepen the yogic state of contemplation.
Mahamudra helps us to discover what authentic yogic contemplation actually is or, in other words, its practice helps us to experience what is called the state of metaphysical contemplation. Such a state of contemplation is revealed to us as a voluntary and active mobilising of an inner inquiry that is full of aspiration, of an identifying communion with the Supreme or, in other words, with God. In this way, an ineffable transcendence of forms is accomplished and there appears a profound, overwhelming and indescribable communion between the being and the Absolute, which leaves no trace of duality. The careful, persevering and systematic practice of the fundamental yogic technique of Mahamudra helps us to discover the most often unsuspected value of authentic yogic contemplation.
