In its essence, the fundamental mystery of the state of spiritual silence is revealed by the wise statement:
“To know, to want, to dare and to remain silent.”
The fruitful experience of the state of spiritual silence is an essential quality for the spiritual aspirant who, in certain unique situations, due to the mysterious manifestation of the Godly Grace, witnessed a wonder or a godly miracle. That is why Jesus, who will always be for us the great godly model, asked His disciples to keep quiet and to not disclose the spiritual secrets that they have learned, offering them to the “pigs”.
Keeping the secret of certain initiations to which we have access, guarantees a constant, fruitful and profound transformation. The disclosure, either willingly or by accident, of certain initiatory secrets, entails stagnation and even regress. The deepening of the state of spiritual silence makes one experience an ineffable, contemplative, and clearly superior state, which, among others, allows us to discover the inexpressible, profound and complex reality of the godly mysteries.
